Two Figures

This is one of THOSE paintings where I'm not sure exactly what to make of it. It was a play of spontaneity (while listening to Keith Jarrett) and just letting the unconscious (like a pseudo-automatism that that surrealists and abstract expressionists used) dictate the course of the painting. I tried to get out of the way as much as I could but there's little Pete fragments there: the use of contour lines and the character of the lines (bold vs. sensitive). The two figures look disjointed . . . as though unaware of each other's existence.  Like a clash of two forms. A dischord of figures.
OR it's two shy and sensitive beings, one apprehensive and the other bashful. One is silent by choice, the other has no voice. Lush and lucid and looping strokes loaded with colour sing or resonate different notes. Or a heart beat. Nocturnal (by the presense of dark blue) submission? Shyly taken? Afraid, worried about giving oneself away?
Just some rowdy random rambly rants :)

Late Spring Evening

There was a moment when all time stopped when we were looking in each other's eyes . . . and then "snap" time started again.
