It's Come Full Circle

Please listen to this song below while looking at the picture.

The last one of the Vulnerability series. It started with a few self portraits . . . and that's how it ends.
And how things have changes since then. I've probably shed enough layers and tears to make 2 1/2 other Petes!

Below is one of the first ones

Figure drawing March 20

This is the second last session until September and it was a good one.
The room was packed and of course the model was a no-show... so the coordinator did the poses herself and she did a fantastic job!

I used a watersoluable crayon with charcoal today with exciting results. I may have to purchase a few :) (the first one on the left is conte)

white washed past?
covering blanket?
heavy slabs of marble?

resentful, unrelenting burden
yet tender and supple beneath the weight

blinding light in the darkness
or the shroud of night: to hide and steal away
until a warm and happy day
of swimming and drinks

cuz I couldn't take another day of her not knowing
I feel exposed
ready to be dashed on the rocks and it's completely possible
do I reveal myself or not?

easier to feign disinterest.

Figure drawing March 13

Latest figure studies from Saturday morning drop-in at UVic.
Conte on newsprint.
I'd like to get some of those water soluable oil crayons. I'd like to try some washes as mass and then go over it with a dry crayon to build up the form. I'd use terps and oil pastel but I don't think other people would appreciate the fumes! (But I appreciate them.... a little too much lol)

The Vulnerable Male

Working title. Any suggestions?

Vulnerable male
Brooding hidden face/expression
In wait
Sudden burst of life
Potential life
Locked in layers and shells
Interior split and divided
Shifting psychosis
Threats of the edge
Into the void
But always on the inside
Interlaced weave of the shell, insulation
Wrought with error
Return to the womb
