Counting My Lovers

A new piece called "I Could Count My Lovers on One Hand"

Past lover (s) love (r) s
Fade in the haze of my memory
But still linger like vapours. and flighty when we were kids
long kisses, fore play fun

2. exciting, passionate adults
consumed by flames, electric skin, hunger, full bodied embrace

Lovers, rings, cheaters.
Twice broken and ready for more.

Prep sketches:

The poses are from the figure drawing of the super-skinny model from about a month ago.

Figure drawing Feb 13

Recent figure drawing session at UVic.
Conte crayon. I think this is the best hand I have ever drawn.
The model was starting to do some static poses. Inspired by snooping around in the 2nd year painting studio where someone was doing a cubist-style piece, I thought I'd try a drawing using two views of the model. I've done this before and used it in a few of my "Vulnerability" paintings and I've always liked the results of this technique. It's an interesting experiment in form and space, it breaks boundaries.
Also conte crayon. I liked how it looked with only the leg and knee fully developed and the rest left unfinished. Like an unfinished sculpture it brims with potential energy.
